eBooks
The Library has an eBook collection which you can read anytime, with no need to borrow. They are available 24/7 through the library website. Many are listed in the library catalogue, even more can be found here. With eBooks you can do keyword searches, create your own account to keep a record of titles you like, underline or highlight important text in ‘your’ copy, change font size etc as required. To read off campus, make sure you logon to 'off campus access’ before searching the catalogue or eBooks databases. eBooks must be used within the terms of the licence agreement applicable to the resource and must be for personal use or research.
- ACLS Humanities E-Book (HEB) is an online collection of over 1500 books. ACLS(American Council of Learned Societies) is collaborating with ten Learned Societies and nearly 80 University Presses to assist scholars in the electronic publishing of high-quality works in the humanities
- Free eBooks in Google Google Book Search allows anyone to search and view for free the full text of 1000s of books . If it is not possible to view the entire fulltext of the book it will direct you to where you can buy or borrow the item in question. - Early English Books Online (EEBO)- From the first book published in English through the age of Spenser and Shakespeare, this collection contains over 125,000 titles listed in Pollard & Redgrave's Short-Title Catalogue and Wing's Short-Title Catalogue.
- ebrary Academic Complete - is a highly interactive ebook database that spans all academic subject areas. There are over 70,000 titles available for you to view in full text format.
- EBSCO eBook Collection EBSCO eBook Collection provides access to the library’s eContent collection. eContent is the digital version of books, journals, and database content. You can access your library’s eContent 24 hours a days, seven days a week.
- Eighteenth Century Collections Online (ECCO) The largest and most comprehensive online historical archive of its kind. It offers full text searching and many levels of metadata which will enable reseachers to study this century in fresh new ways.
- Library of Latin Texts (CLCLT) - is the world's leading database for Latin texts. It contains 2800 works that are attributed to approximately 860 authors from the beginning of Latin literature (Livius Andronicus, 240 BC) through to the texts of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). n.b. after clicking on the link you then have to click on 'enter databases' and the select the required database

- Medieval and Early Modern Sources Online (MEMSO) - provides a large and growing resource of essential medieval and early modern sources online. MEMSO is the best way to access books essential to the study of medieval and early modern Britain and Ireland.
- MyiLibrary - is a collection of eBooks from a variety of publishers. Our collection at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth is growing with currently over 600 titles covering all disciplines.
- RSC (Royal Society of Chemistry) eBook Collection The RSC eBook Collection is a definitive point of reference for anyone working in the chemical sciences. Over 700 books spanning 40 years have been brought together, digitalised as pdf files and made fully searchable.
- Safari Tech Books Online - is an electronic reference e-books library for computer science, business and information technology books. Browse our full text e-books in the virtual bookshelf or search for topics using the search box.
- Women Writers Online It is part of a long-term research project devoted to early modern women's writing. Its goal is to bring texts by pre-Victorian women writers out of the archive and make them accessible to a wide audience of teachers, students, scholars, and the general reader.
