Catalogues
Printed Books
Records for books in the Russell Library are currently being added to the NUI Maynooth Library online catalogue. This provides a wide range of search options. It is also possible to search the Russell Library only, within the catalogue, as a base, or sub-set.
Having first consulted the online catalogue, readers should also check the card catalogue. The card catalogue in the Russell Library, is replicated in the John Paul II Library where the catalogue is to be found in the bank of drawers beside the lift. There is a single sequence of cards, arranged by author. The card catalogue in the Russell Library has a separate sequence for the pamphlet collection.

The Library’s holdings are recorded in the Incunabula Short-Title Catalogue, an international database of 15th century European printing, created by the British Library, with contributions from institutions worldwide.
The Illustrated Incuabula Short-Title Catalogue (IISTC) is a version of the ISTC published on CD-ROM, with the addition of illustrations of key pages from each edition. The IISTC may be consulted in the Russell Library.
Pamphlets [Anchor to Catalogue in Pamphlets above]
The 18th century pamphlets are all included in the online catalogue. For nineteenth and twentieth-century pamphlets, consult the card catalogue in the Russell Library.
Bibles
There is a sheaf catalogue of the Hibernian Bible Society collection of c. 2000 Bibles. Arranged first by language, then chronologically. The rest of the early collection is on cards only
