Teaching and teaching support
Teaching and teaching support
The Russell Library collections span ten centuries and a wide range of subjects. In support of departmental programmes, we offer the following classes for postgraduate and research students
- Introduction to the Russell Library collections, with reference to specific subjects, as requested
- Aspects of book history which complement a particular area of study. This can provide an invaluable backdrop to research and give an understanding of the broader picture of publishing for a given period
- Introduction to bibliography: analytical, descriptive, textual, historical and enumerative
- An opportunity to see some of the physical books handled and read by contemporaries, in any period from the 11th century onwards; books which pertain to a specific area of study, whether it be a single text, a particular author or a theme.
These classes are by arrangement with departments and take place in the Russell Library. Contact the Librarian for further details.
