The Library has desktop PCs on each floor to support student learning.
Most PCs (labelled MMPC) offer full access to the internet, including
access to your university e-mail account. The MMPCs also offer the
Microsoft Office suite of applications, and are USB-disk enabled.
To login to these PCs, you will need your username and password supplied
by the Computer Centre. Work can be saved to your personal drive on
the student server. MMPCs are connected to Network
Printer 02 in the Multimedia Area on level
1.
Some PCs (labelled OPAC) are restricted to the campus intranet, allowing access to all services available on the campus network. OPACs are connected to Network Printer 01 in the Multimedia Area on level 1.
The Library has a number of laptops available for loan. Laptops can be borrowed from the Desk for three hours, for use in the Library building only.
The Library laptops automatically connect to a wireless network and offer full access to the internet, including access to your university e-mail account. The laptops also offer the Microsoft Office suite of applications, and are USB-disk enabled.

Library users are welcome to use their own laptops anywhere in
the Library.
The campus-wide NUIM wireless network is available throughout the
Library building. As this service is provided and supported by the
Computer Centre, please see the Computer
Centre website for user guides and details of support clinics.
Printed copies of the Computer Centre guides are also available
in the Library.
The Library is currently investigating printing options for personal
laptops. At present, personal laptop users can print by mediating
through a Library PC or Library laptop.
